We are proud to have maintained a 5-star food hygiene rating for 10 consecutive years, and we want to be open with our customers about the circumstances of our current rating. The 1-star rating is related to processes and procedures, and does not reflect the cleanliness or general hygiene of our kitchen. A piece of equipment was found to be inadequate and was remedied immediately. All other matters identified were actioned without delay. We have requested a formal re-inspection from Braintree District Council and are confident that we are currently operating to a 5-star standard, albeit that this has not yet been confirmed through re-inspection. This is not the standard we hold ourselves to, and we look forward to our rating reflecting that very soon. The House By Hilly Gant March 2026&nbsp;</p>
