What the business says

Since the inspection, the owners have taken direct oversight of the operation and have carried out a comprehensive review of the food safety management systems, staff responsibilities, training, documentation and management controls. The issues identified by the Environmental Health Officers have been treated as a priority and corrective action was taken immediately.

The conditions found at the time of the inspection were not typical of the normal conditions maintained at the establishment and arose because:

At the time of the inspection, the business was experiencing an unexpected and significant disruption to its management structure. Our General Manager, who had responsibility for overseeing a number of the site’s day-to-day operational and compliance procedures, left the business without notice shortly before the inspection. This resulted in an immediate gap in management oversight and, regrettably, a number of food safety management and record-keeping procedures were not being maintained to the standard we expect. Within 48 hours of the inspection, we submitted a formal application for a re-rating inspection, reflecting both the speed with which corrective action was taken and our confidence that the required standards are now being met.

  • A new management system has been implemented.
  • There is now a new manager and/or new staff.
  • The staff have been trained/re-trained/given instruction/are under revised supervisory arrangements.
